Cox and McDaid will not wed in Ireland

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid will not wed in Ireland.

The loved-up pair, who announced their engagement last week, were rumoured to be considering a wedding in McDaid’s native Down.

But the couple are expected to walk up the aisle in Cox’s hometown of Birmingham, Alabama in order to accommodate her elderly mother, who is unable for a lengthy flight to Ireland.

McDaid and Cox announced their engagement last week after less than a year together.

And details of his romantic proposal have also been revealed – including the ring, which was designed by Tobey Maguire’s jewellery designer wife Jennifer Meyer.

“Johnny told her, ‘I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you whether you marry me or not, but I really hope you say yes,'” an insider told Us Weekly.

He popped the question in Turks and Caicos where they were celebrating Courteney’s milestone 50th birthday.

The pair are expected to wed in a ‘small and intimate’ ceremony before the end of the year.
